QUICK PRODUCTION TIPS & TRICKS

Transient Shaper + Clipper for drums

Set a clipper on your most hard-hitting drums with the ceiling just slightly above the peak volume. Then, insert a transient shaper before the clipper and boost the attack. This way, you’re increasing the impact of the drums by coloring and thickening the transient.
You can control how sharp or round and how colored the transient is by tweaking the clipping curve. It’s recommended to use this trick on individual sounds and not on busses.
